The Cinque Terre Card is a ticket that grants discounted or free services and is the self-financing system for the Park of the Cinque Terre. The main purpose of the card is to facilitate transports and allow hikers to trek in the Cinque Terre paths safely. The Cinque Terre card is from this year split in two cards, which you can buy according to the purpose of your trip to the Cinque Terre trip: visiing the villages of the Cinque Terre or hiking in the Cinque Terre.
How does it work?
The Cinque Terre Card is personal, must show holder’s name and surname (the family head’s in case of a family group ticket ) and in case of inspection the holders must show their ID. Tickets also need to be validated at dedicated machines hosted in every rail station of the Cinque Terre at the moment of your first trip in the Park. Kids up to 4 years of age go free.
Be aware that in case of orange and/or red weather warning sign, the sale of cards is suspended.
Where can I buy the Cinque Terre Cards?
– At all railway stations in Cinque Terre, La Spezia and Levanto.
– At Cinque Terre welcome centres.
– From bus drivers, only in the villages of the Cinque Terre.
Is it worth buying the Cinque Terre Card?
Buying the Cinque Terre Card is first of all a donation for the park, which is totally funded with the tickets earnings, which are used to secure hiking trails and preserve the ancient villages.
This is why it is worth paying for the Cinque Terre Card, also particularly cheap for groups and families.
